Washing vegetables, tending a wood fire, and taking turns at the wok, CRE colleagues each had a part to play in preparing lunch. Around the outdoor stoves, there was a sense of “What can I help with?” as everyone contributed to the meal. When the dishes were ready, the group gathered to enjoy what they had made together.
This shared effort was one of the highlights of CRE’s annual team-building day on October 31, 2026. Employees traveled in two groups to Taihu Grottoes in Yixing and Jiangnan Yaowu in Moganshan for a day of team activities, outdoor adventures, and sightseeing.
At Taihu Grottoes, icebreaker games brought everyone into the activities and set a lively tone. George thanked employees for their dedication and encouraged colleagues to continue supporting one another.
“Good luck, everyone! Go!” called out the game host as the Monopoly-themed team challenge got underway. Following a briefing from the coach, employees formed teams, discussed their next moves, and worked through each round together. A “Let’s try it together” attitude captured the spirit of the games, with teammates helping one another turn ideas into action, which embodies what CRE is all about.
That cooperation continued into lunch preparation. Washing ingredients, lighting the stoves, and cooking required different contributions, giving everyone a way to take part. Colleagues shared the tasks and gathered around tables of freshly prepared dishes, enjoying a meal that reflected the effort of the whole group. Lunch and the relaxed conversations afterward brought a warm, familiar feel to the day.
After lunch and a short break, we swapped our usual routine for helmets, handlebars, and a 12-kilometer ATV adventure through the hills. The ride brought fresh air, autumn views, and plenty of excitement as we took to the trails together. It was a chance to try something different and enjoy the afternoon with our teammates.
Meanwhile, the Moganshan group began its visit at Yucun’s Republican-era-style street before continuing to the Jiangnan Yaowu scenic area. With a guide, colleagues explored the attractions and enjoyed the scenery together.
Besides the excitement of the Yixing activities, these quieter moments were another welcome part of the outing, giving colleagues space to relax and enjoy being together.
Across both destinations, colleagues made time to relax, try something different, and enjoy others’ company. For one participant in the CRE outing, it was the willingness to help each other that stood out.
“What I enjoyed most was how everyone found a way to help. Some took the lead in the games, others got the fire going or helped prepare lunch. We talked things through, tried things together, and had a good laugh along the way. It felt good knowing there was always someone ready to lend a hand. That’s the kind of team I’m happy to be part of.”
